  • USCAP 2024 Annual Meeting platform presentation: Rabban J, Wadee R, Plotkin A, Usubutun A, Midha D, Stolnicu S, Focchi G, Nucci M.  Feasibility of Applying WHO Essential Criteria for Diagnosis of Female Genital Tumors: Results of an International Practice Survey on Access to WHO-Required Diagnostic Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Tests.

More Info: Feasibility of Applying WHO Essential Criteria for Diagnosis of Female Genital Tumors

In 2024, Dr. Joseph Rabban was appointed to the World Health Organization Tumor Classification’s subcommittee on Low/Middle Income Countries based on the work above and on his role as education co-chair of the International Society of Gynecological Pathology. This committee is developing recommendations to guide the development of the 6th edition series of WHO Tumor Classification “Blue Books” on providing criteria that can applied in resource-constrained Low/Middle Income Countries, with an aim on mitigating a health disparity gap as IHC and molecular diagnostic testing becomes more and more integrated as essential criteria for tumor diagnosis.

  • USCAP 2023 Annual Meeting platform presentation: Neslihan Kayraklioglu, Kristie White, Ursula Else Lang. An Institutional Diversity Equity and Inclusion Survey and Identification of Action Items to Improve the Climate in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Nesli Kayraklioglu designed and implemented a DEI assessment of the Departments of Anatomic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She developed the survey through an iterative process with faculty and disseminated the survey to collect data from December 2020 to January 2021. The survey collected 164 responses across faculty, trainees and staff, and the results were used to develop a road map of actionable items to improve the DEI climate in the respective departments. The DEI survey data and action items were presented at the Departmental Grand Rounds in August 2022. Following Grand Rounds, the data was further analyzed and submitted and accepted for a platform presentation at the 2023 USCAP Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
