Research and Clinical Interests

My laboratory has a long track record of experimental pathology including generation of advanced mouse models of human cancers, interpretation of phenotypes, developmental and cancer, and most up-to-date functional imaging technology, image analysis, and data informatics. My laboratory focuses on mechanisms of initiation and progression from in situ to invasive carcinoma in both patient cohort samples and advanced mouse models. In particular, my laboratory has developed syngeneic transplantable mouse model systems, genetically engineered mice, and specialized mouse cancer cell lines suitable for preclinical studies including tumor immune interactions and shared these resources with dozens of laboratories worldwide. Additionally, I am co-PI of the WISDOM Study and co-PI and pathology working group co-lead for the ISPY2 clinical trials, and the RECAST DCIS trial. I am co-PI of the All of US Coast to Coast health provider organization and corresponding PI for the California Partnership for Personalized Nutrition, an All of US Nutrition for Precision Health clinical center. I serve on the FDA Molecular and Clinical Genetics advisory board and the Multi-Cancer Early Detection consortium. My laboratory maintains cutting edge tissue processing and analysis resources as well as image/metadata databases and high content image analysis tools.
