Clinical Chemistry Fellowship

The Clinical Chemistry Post-doctoral Fellowship is offered through the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. This fellowship program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (non-ACGME fellowship) and trains clinical laboratory scientists (PhD and/or MD) so that they may obtain directorship positions within academia and industry. The fellowship is a two-year training program that focuses on chemistry, toxicology, and molecular testing within the clinical laboratory, as well as clinical and translational research projects. This program is not designed to be a 1-year post-residency fellowship in chemical pathology.

Research experience is expected, e.g., through a graduate thesis program, but postdoctoral experience is not necessary.

Stipend

Support is commensurate with the candidate’s level of post-graduate training, and is in line with other clinical fellowship programs on the UCSF campus.
