Research and Clinical Interests

My main career focus is to understand immune mechanisms of a disease, and to understand and direct the protective responses to prevent infection and reduce inflammation-associated pathology. In order to do this I have focused on identifying biomarkers and discovering immune therapeutics that may be associated with disease-induced inflammation and pathogenesis. I have focused on biomarker discovery using high throughput immune assays to measure cytokines, chemokines, growth factors and other biomarkers of immune response or pathology ranging from HIV, HCV, HBV vaccine breakthrough, Chagas, West Nile Virus, cardiovascular disease, neuropathology and many other areas.
