Principle Fluids > 3 mL are concentrated by centrifugation and the sediment plated on media that support the growth of fungi. Negative cultures are reported after 4 weeks. Positive results are reported when fungi are recovered.
Container type Sterile, screw-capped container. For large volume collections, large volume sterile, evacuated bottles are available from the Pharmacy.
Collection Instructions Collect as much fluid as possible for culture and concentration.
