The Research Core Morphology Facility (650 sq. ft., LR 309) is located in a research building at the UCSF Parnassus campus. All processing, embedding, sectioning, immunohistochemistry, slide/grid preparation and histological analysis of tissue is performed in this suite.

The cutting area contains a Microm HM 315 and two Leica paraffin microtomes, two Leica cryostats and an LKB Nova ultramicrotome on an isolation table. There is a ChemGard General Purpose hood. In addition to bench areas for dissection, there are incubators, refrigerators, water baths and staining set-ups necessary for specimen preparation for light or electron microscopy. There is also Nikon and Olympus microscopes and a Nikon dissecting microscope. The Research Morphology Core Facility is currently fully operational and available for use in projects.
