We study a diverse group of organisms including parasitic protozoa, nematodes, and trematodes. We have a special interest in proteases and other factors involved in developement, parasitic diseases, and the biology of the host-parasite relationship. We are affiliated with the Departments of Pathology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Tetrad Graduate Program, the Biomedical Sciences Program, and the Chemistry and Chemical Biology Graduate Program, and the Molecular Design Institute at the University of California San Francisco.

The McKerrow lab is located at Byers Hall at the Mission Bay campus of the University of California San Francisco.
The Low Hanging Fruit (LHF) website is an open source database where data from our drug/compound screens against parasitic organisms will be shared with the parasitology and drug-development communities.
The Sandler Center website is a hub for laboratories involved in drug development to treat neglected diseases.
QB3 (The California Institute of Quantitative Biosciences) is a consortium of the University of Californa and private industry created to study biological system using quantitative sciences such as biology, physics, mathematics, and chemistry. QB3 consists of buildings in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz. At the University of California San Francisco, QB3 is located in Byers Hall.
