Additional information Tartrate Resistant Acid Phosphatase (TRAP) is useful in diagnosing Hairy Cell Leukemia since the malignant cells contain an acid phosphatase that is resistant to inhibition by L-tartrate. Approximately 5-10% of patients with Hairy Cell Leukemia test TRAP negative by cytochemical methodology
