A joint program of the Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the UCSF Research Community
For residents with a strong research background, several positions are available each year in the prestigious UCSF Molecular Medicine Training Program (MMTP). This program offers post-residency research training positions for periods of up to three years for physicians in the fields of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine, who are committed to careers in basic biomedical research. The mission of the program is to provide advanced postdoctoral training in the experimental study of the molecular and cellular basis of disease. This is done through individual laboratory research, lectures, seminars and journal clubs. In addition, through an individual advisory/mentoring system, the program provides guidance and advice about the practicalities of pursuing a career at the interface of science and medicine. Applicants to the Residency Training Program should indicate their interest in this fellowship at the time of application.
