Selective Plane Illumination Microscope
The SPIM is designed to rapidly collect 3D volumes of clear samples. It uses a galvometer mirror to create a thin light sheet from a Gaussian beam. A beam splitter allows dual-sided illumination of the sample to reduce scattering artifacts. 

Hardware includes 3-visible laser lines, an OrcaFlash 4.0 camera, and a Sutter MPC-200 used as a 3-axis stage.

The SPIM is currently in the beam characterization and preliminary sample testing phase. The microscope should be open to the community by the start of 2018.
